It is our pleasure to invite you to attend the 3rd International Cancer Fatigue Symposium, to take place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Montréal, Canada, on October 12-13, 2012 (immediately after the 19th International Congress on Palliative Care).
Presented by the Canadian Cancer-Related Fatigue Working Group, an interdisciplinary group of researchers based in Edmonton, Toronto, Montreal, and Ottawa, this symposium will bring together international leaders in fatigue research and their graduate students, as well as leading clinicians in symptom management.
The purpose of this symposium is to build on the work of the 2nd International Cancer Fatigue Symposium, with particular emphasis on the definition of fatigue, new developments in cachexia and sarcopenia, fatigue as a stress response, and central and peripheral fatigue mechanisms.
The objectives are to provide a setting in which we can share State-of-the-Science papers and posters related to cancer-related fatigue and its management, introduce the rising stars from among our graduate students to the leaders in fatigue research, and continue the development of a world-wide fatigue research agenda.
Inclusion of both clinicians and scientists, and their students, in this symposium is a high priority in order to ensure that knowledge development is driven by clinical objectives and the practical realities of clinical practice around the world in urban and rural environments.
